Is it possible for the domain name on an email address to change when an externa user replies to an email sent by me
I've sent an email to an external user at a different company and they reply to my email but the domain name on the email address is changed from tavcor to tavcormotorgroup which result in the reply mail not being delivered to back to me. tavcor is our
domain which is used in our emails and tavcormotorgroup is used for our website. Important emails are not being delivered as a result of this change. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Does this happen only when sending to this particular domain? What version of Exchange? I doubt you are doing any address rewriting, have you confirmed if this particular user is not performing some other automated process, plug in that might be replying
back to your other domain? James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Yes this happens to emails that are being sent from someone@nmmu.ac.za and
someone@canonec.co.za. All other external emails are coming through. For example I've asked someone from
canonec to reply to the mail i sent to them but they must reply to my personal mail which is
sgudie@yahoo.com and cc my work email which is molefe.mo@tavcor.co.za. The mail comes through to my personal inbox (yahoo) but not to my work inbox because it get changed from
molefe.mo@tavcor.co.za to molefe.mo@tavcormotorgroup.co.za. see picture! hope this makes sense!

The first thing I would do is take at look at your SMTP logs to see if they are indeed sending to you at
molefe.mo@tavcormotorgroup.co.
and its not your Exchange thats doing the conversion. I doubt it's you, I'm thinking this company has some sort of address book sharing or contacts for your company and they've explcity set @tavcormotorgroup.co as the primary smtp or they are the ones
doing some address re-writing. I would also ping their admins because I doubt it's your company doing this especially since it's only affecting just them. James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com
