We have thousands of users, moved to Office 365, using Office 2013 on Citrix Xenapp 6 with Windows 2008 R2. Alot files were Office XP, but some have been convert. Users open a spreadsheet and just crashes no reason. Has anyone got any fixes Office
2013 Service Pack seem to make things worse.
What does the 'Office XP 'mean? Did you get any event log when excel crashes?
And you can provide a litter more information about these files.
Can you open these files when start excel in safe mode? Maybe this issue is caused by some add-ins.

It's true. Office 2013 is the worst version ever. After getting feedback from more than 200 our customers, the amount of bugs is just incredible. Also, almost everyone complains about contrast issues. It's just too bright and you can't see the lines and everything. Customers start to complain, and we can't do anything about it.
Nevertheless, Office 2010 is just a great product! So we implement the 2010 versions in almost all cases, because the product just works.
Is office 2013 the worst Office ever Released?
Yes it is.
Is office 2013 the worst Office ever Released?
Yes it is.
Agreed, it is killing my productivity. When I change focus to something else, like outlook to grab some data for the sheet I am working on, I can get get the system to focus back on the sheet to paste it in. Same issue if I am working on multiple sheets. Agreed on the Contrast issues also.
What a step backwards, seems like 1992 when you needed to save everything constantly.
I hope the next version is better.- Edited by steve911a 17 hours 33 minutes ago
