Is there a way to handle differently?
Hi all,
Currently, we got requestes from our legal dept. to send messages in S/MIME format to one law firm.
We purchased certificates from Verisign and use outlook 2007.
will we need to configure it differently on the exchange server? some people told me that some SMTP server needs the special configuration to deliver S/MIME messages.
Thank you.

S/MIME is a client side setting, so nothing different needs to be done on Exchange.
You are probably thinking of TLS, which is a transport configuration. However if the message is already in S/MIME then it probably doesn't need the additional TLS security - although if the recipient server says it can support it, then Exchange 2007 and higher
will use it.
