Hi all, we need to convert a user mailbox to a linked mailbox in Exchange 2007 SP2 by following http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201694(EXCHG.80).aspx When I disable their mailbox, disable account, the mailbox does not show in the disconnected mailbox of recipient configuration. Is this supposed to be? then, How do I convert the existing user mailbox to linked mailbox? Thank you very much for your help.

Hi, Generally Mailboxes that have never been logged on to or sent an email have no Information Store object. Therefore, these mailboxes are not detected in Disconnected Mailbox list. If your case is different, then Clean-MailboxDatabase command will help you. A simple example is Clean-MailboxDatabase MyMailboxDatabaseRegards from www.windowsadmin.info

If I disable a mailbox, got the warning"Disabling the mailbox will remove the Exchange properties from the Windows user object and mark the mailbox in the database for removal. Are you sure you want to disable this user?" If I click yes as instructed and disable the account, the mailbox will not show in the disconnected mailbox. Tried your command and still does not show in the disconnected mailbox.
