Issues with Exchange 2007 mail routing
We are running pure Exchange 2007 in our environment which I undertand uses AD Sites and Services for mail routing. Our topology is that we have one HQ AD site that is responsible for mail routing to/from the internet. We then have several branch sites connected
to HQ. I guess you could call it a Hub and Spoke topology.
So theortically, mail from the internet to a branch site should go from the Internet > HQ > Branch, but I''ve noticed that for one branch, mail is going Internet > HQ > Branch1 > Branch2.
Is there anyway within Exchange that I can see the routing topology or generate some sort of diagram?

The routing is based on the AD site connectivity and the costs
associated with the links between those AD sites. If you're not the
person that manages the AD replication topology you may not know why
one link has a higher cost than another so it'd pay to find out before
you start sending e-mail over a potentially inefficient connection.
You can' however, assign a differnt cost to those AD IP site links:

Just be careful you understand why someone else may have thought it
should be done differently.
