Journaling
With Exchange 2007. Lets say Icreated a folder in my Outlook mailbox and moved a few messages into that folder from a .pst file. I also have Jounaling enabled. Would those messages moved into that new folder be included in Jounaling. Along that same line, would it be possible to create a transport rule that moved messages from that mailbox to another mailbox? When I say messages, I am talking about messages that are copied intothat folder (from the .pst), not messages that are sent or received. Thanks

Hi, I feel those will NOT be sent to journal mailbox& to another mailbox by transport rule either, since messages are sent to Journal mailbox if it is sent/received by recipients and transport rules applies if messages are touching to Hub transport server, both are transport agent. You are moving messages from pst to a folder in mailbox so those messages will not toucheither journaling mechanism agent or transport rules agent. Overview of Journaling Two types of journaling are there in Exchange 2007. Standard Journaling: You can enable it on Store level also andmails will be sent to journal mailbox if mail is sent/received by recipients. Premium Journaling: Create a Journal Rule on Hub Transport Server and journal agent on Hub transport server will take care of it. Overview of Transport Rules
