Junk email
Hello after applying Exchange 2007 SP2 a lot of my clients have mentioned that my emails land in their Outlook Junk E-mail folders. Is there any way to determine why this is happening? Other than the service pack, I have not changed a thing. I think in the last 4 years I have only been told that 1 or 2 of my emails landed in the junk folder. In the last 2 weeks since I applied the SP, I have gotten at least 7 notifications from different clients.
Windows 2008 SP1, Exchange 2007 SP2.

I am not SURE it is the Exchange 2007 SP2 that caused it but the issue surfaced immediately after that install.
I am not on any blacklists (verified with MX Toolbox). Also not getting NDRs saying that my email was blocked. I get emails/calls from my clients saying that my email ended up in their junk boxes.
Internal SPAM solution is only the built in Exchange tools. Not sure how this would effect my client's junk email boxes. As far as I know there is no outgoing filtering.

So no filtering going on before messages hit their network? No Forefront?

Forefront is definitely not installed. There is Symantec Mail Security coming in, but it is not doing any spam filtering (incoming or outgoing).

Hi,
I don’t think it has any relationship with Exchange 2007 SP2. I suggest you run Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ to do an Outbound email test and see if you have proper DNS record registered.
Thanks,
Elvis

If you are having problems sending to major ISPs and your mail is ending up in the Junk Folder there are a few things to check. However, it sounds like you have confirmed most of those settings! (Blacklist, MX and Reverse DNS records & SMTP Diagnostics) This is a great start to make sure that your mail is being delivered accurately and on time. Keep in mind that while you may pass all of these tests each recipient server administrator can adjust their mail filters however they like, which might end up putting your mail in the Junk folder. It is really up to the users of the system to give feedback to their administrators so that filters can be adjusted accordingly.Let us know if you have any other questions!
Thank you,@MxToolBox
