KB958644 and Server 2003
Hi, We install and support a 3rd party dictation application, and we have found in a few cases this app is broken by KB958644. So my question is, does anyone know exactly what this update does? We have been unable to replicate the issue in our test environments, but it has happened on two production servers. The application makes use of an SQL database connection, as well as IIS. Web components running on the server use ASP scripts to move files around and talk to Client applications. After installing this update on the server, we found that we were unable to connect (getting an http 400 error) to the web components of the app in the server from a client app until the server components were reinstalled, so we are fairly sure it must be a setting or file that gets modified by the update. However, without knowing exactly what the update does, we can't track the issue down. As far as I can tell all it should do is replace the netapi32.dll file, but this by itself should not cause any of the issues we have been having. The suppliers of the app are also unable to reproduce the issue, so we are all a bit stuck at the moment. Cheers

Thanks for that. I was looking for that one from the forum list, but I couldn't find it. I'll post it to that forum.
