LCR
So I have LCR enabled on my First Storage Group(C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\First Storage Group) in my lab. The LCR is pointing to E:\LCR. I was able to activate the LCR by issuing "Restore-StorageGroupCopy -Identity "First Storage
Group" -ReplceLocations"" and was successful because I was able to see E:\LCR in the path file in EMC. Let's assume that I fix the issue with the DB in C: and would like to bring that back. How would I go about enabling it? Thanks.

I've never had a customer deploy LCR, and it's been dropped from Exchange 2010. I've been exposed to this feature and understand how to do what you want conceptually, but I had to look up an answer for you. This is Microsoft's reference on the
topic.

Basically, if you activate the secondary copy, then it becomes the primary copy. At that point you fix the failed primary volume, and then reseed it as the secondary copy. If you want, you can switch it back over later, but there's no requirement
to do that.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Agree with ED, LCR keep same copy of DB on same exchange server, So you no need to make it passive.

Ed,
So you do not see any benefits with LCR? We have one Exchange server hardware, and that's the only clustering option we have.

I guess it's better than nothing.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

That's what I say. What's your recommendation?

Two servers and CCR, or, better, Exchange 2010 and a DAG.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Unfortunately, we won't be going to Exchange 2010 soon.
