I have a functional block diagram with blocks that are assigned to multiple layers.  Each layer is a solution to a particular problem and sometimes the solution (block) is the solution to multiple problems.  So, a block will be assigned to layer 1 and 3.  I want to show only layer 1 and fade everything else, but it won't work with a block assigned to multiple layers.  Any ideas?

that will probably require custom code because the layer menu only allows visible/invisible and a custom transparency of the shapes would require them to be modified individually (i.e. programmatically).
