Licensing and set up questions
Hi,
I am currently evaluating Microsft Exchange for a client howeverI cannot find the answers tothe followingquestions:
1. My (UK) client has a minimum of 14employees needing email accounts. Am I correct in assuming that this will require an Enterprise license (If I read the documentation correctlythe Standard licence is limited to 5 users)? The Exchange server will be hosted on one machine.
2. What other licence costs are there eg: Microsoft Exchange Standard Client Access Licence (CAL), Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access?
3. So far I can only find prices for US customers, the UK prices areless clear.
4.Am I right to believe that the whole application (server and client) can be downloaded from a central point. I will need to install on a remote web server that does not have easy CD/DVD access?
5. Can you point in the direction of a good site on programmatically accessing users calenders via .NET/C#.
Sorry if these seem basic questions but so far I am unable to get definitive answers.
Thanks for your help in advance
Regards Andrew

Are we talking Exchange 2007?
There is licenses for server and for clients.
Server license can be either Standard or Enterprise. the difference is that Ent can do cluster and have more databases running. no limitiations in number of mailboxes.
to have a mailbox on Exchange there must be a client license (CAL). Buy as many as you have mailboxes. with a CAL you also get outlook client if you run Exchange 2003 or earlier. This is changed in Exchange 2007 so you dont get outlook with a CAL. Exchange 2007 also introduce 2 CAL's, std. or Ent.where std. gives you right to use about the same functionality as in Exchange 2003, with Ent. CAL you can use all functionality in Exchange.
OWA is ofcourse included in a CAL
have no clue about price's
