Limit on internal attachments
Hi all,exchange 2003 /outlook2003Is there a way to put limit on the internal messages size? We have no limit policy and want to restrict internal users to send large attachment each other inside organiztion.Thank you.

Yes you can apply a max receive size limit for all the users in the Organisation to say 1 MB so that if any internal user sends mail with attachement more han 1 MB to any other internal user he will get a NDR for the same. However please note that all the users will not be able to receive mails more than 1 MB in size from external senders as well. You can also set the Receive message size limit on the SMTP virtual server on the MBX server Mahendra

Hi JohnThere is no solution to set the size of attachment so far.Anyway there are several ways to limit the total size of email:1.Global setting.2.Connector setting.3.SMTP virtual server setting.4.User mailbox setting.More info:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/322679Thanks.Bobo

Thanks for all replies.It seems NO WAY TO DO THIS.We only want to set the limit on internal messages (users send each other inside organization), but not on the external messages.(send to outside or receive from outside )I can not put limit on the global settings otherwise limit on all messages.IS THERE A WAY?THANK YOU!
