Losing Inbox messges
Got this nagging problem with Outlook--when I REPLY to an email it has begun to erase that email from my inbox. What is causing that?

Clarify: Messages disappeared in inbox after doing reply action, right?
Collect info:
1. Which type of mail account do you use, exchange account, POP or IMAP?
2. Who provides the mail service, your company or local ISP?
3. Confirm version: outlook, windows client
4. Is the issue permanently and also happened to all the messages in the inbox?
5. Do the replied messages appear in the Send Items folder after sending?
Basic troubleshooting:
1. Go to OWA, or the webpage you used to access mailbox via internet, check if the messages also missed from there
2. Start outlook in safe mode to see if we can reproduce issue <Start->Run->outlook /safe>
Notes: It can disable 3rd-party Add-ins for testing, so if issue werent persisted, we can determine the cause is Add-ins
3. Disable all Non-microsoft services in Msconfig for testing
a. Start->Run->msconfig
b. In the Services tab, click "Hide All Microsoft Services" and click "Disable All"
c. In the Startup tab, click "Disable All". Click OK.
d. Restart the computer and then check the issue
Notes: This will temporarily prevent 3rd-party programs from running automatically during start-up
4. Add the profile with a different name, and then try to reproduce issue on new profile
Advanced troubleshooting:
1. Clear the event log in the event viewer, enable outlook troubleshooting logging [Step]. Then reproduce issue, check event log and logging file for any related event, or you can post here
Event viewer: Start->Run->eventvwr->expand to Application log to check the log
2. Use MAPI Editor to check if theres no missed messages [Similar to Basic troubleshooting 1, but in this way, we can see mailbox in raw data]
a. Download MAPI Editor
b. Run it directly on PC
c. Run MAPI Editor, Session menu->choose Logon and Display Store Table->choose profile in jumped window (dont need to choose if theres only one profile on client)
d. In the next window->expand Root Container->expand IPM_SUBTREE->double-click Inbox
e. Check if therere missed messages
