Lost folders

Hello all,

A personal folder has been deleted and the computer has been re-imaged. Although I cannot get the folder back (or can I?) can I get the emails from the deleted folder back using Exchange. Our Exchange server shows that the email account still has over 17000 emails.

Thanks

Aaron

Yes, i did it before and recovered it back too!!

Try Testdisk - TestDisk is a free and open source data recovery utility

Do I use this on the machine I re-imaged? Has the disk not been formatted?

  1. That will not work if the machine has been re-imaged
  2. When you say "Personal Folder" are you saying they created a folder within their mailbox or?

A personal folder is stored in local PST and tt is impossible to recover the data from the Exchange server side. I agree vikkyrocks that we may consider use the data recovery software to try to get the PST file from disk. However, if the lost thing is really important, we'd better go to data recovery store, the professional technician would help you.

if its just in a local PST and you already imaged the drive I think your chances are fairly slim
