MAPI error when mounting a Public Store database on another server.
I need to mount the public store from our primary Exchange 2010 (PublicFolderDB1.edb on MX01) server on another Exchange 2010 server (PublicFolderDB2.edb on MX02). However, when I restore a copy for the PFDB to MX02 and rename the database to PublicFolderDB2.edb the MX02 server refuses to mount the database with an error: -------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- Failed to mount database 'PublicFolderDB2'. PublicFolderDB2 Failed Error: Couldn't mount the database that you specified. Specified database: PublicFolderDB2; Error code: An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The database action failed. Error: Operation failed with message: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1011) [Database: PublicFolderDB2, Server: MX02.MyDomain.net]. An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The database action failed. Error: Operation failed with message: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1011) What do I need to do to mount the database on another server? Thanks SteveH

“Database portability is for Exchange 2010 mailbox databases only. Public folder databases aren't portable” --------Refer to <Database Portability> You should recover the public folder database on the server with the same name configuration as the original one Or, create an isolate environment with the same name configuration as the product environment, mount the public folder database, and then use outlook to export the data James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
