MDT 2008: Windows XP Task Sequence Problems
am using the Deployment Workbench for LiteTouch OS and Application Deployments.
I have configured the Distribution Share (C:\Distribution)I have loaded Operating Systems for the installation Media (Windows Vista and Windows XP Pro and a custom Windows XP Pro image that I captured of our standard image)I have loaded Office 2007 with customizations in the Applications node.I don't have anything under OS Packages or the Out of Box Drivers nodes.I created a standard client task sequence for each OS (3 total).I updated the Deployment Point.I PXE booted a target machine and authenticated.I selected the Windows XP Pro Base Image that was captured.I select Office 2007 to be installed and no User state Migration or capture.I let it rock and roll and the OS is installed and reboots into the Windows desktop. It then prompts me to reboot again because the drivers have been updated. Once it reboots, nothing else happens.
Now if I do the same steps as above when I select the Windows Vista OS, it all works perfectly (when Windows boots into the desktop, the litetouch continues and installs Office 2007).
Interesting thing is that I able to perform an OS deployment for Windows Vista and then install subsequent Applications (such as Office 2007) using the task sequence. However, when I select a Windows XP Pro image to be the deployed OS, the subsequent applications do not get installed???
I am missing a something? What am I doing wrong?MCTS Configuring Exchange 2007, MCSE, CCNA
