We have set up a new Exchange 2007 SP1 server. Everything is working excpet accessing the Free/Busy information from Outlook 2003.Every 50 minutes, the server logs event 8207 from MSExchangeFBPublish: "Error updating public folder with free/busy information on virtual machine EXCHANGE. The error number is 0x80070005."We have tried every suggestion we can find on this error, including resetting the system folders, but the error remains. The public folder exists in the NON_IPM_SUBTREE, and has the correct permissions (Default: Author; Anonymous: None). The private folder exists in the System Attendant mailbox.Most of the posts we have found on this error refer to a different error number, or to upgrading / migrating from Exchange 2003, but this is a new installation of Exchange 2007. The AD domain has never had any version of Exchange anywhere near it before.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We called Microsoft PSS, and they solved the problem within 20 minutes.For some reason, the "CN=Public Folders" was under:CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=company,DC=comwhen it should be under:CN=Folder Hierarchies,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (...),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=company,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=company,DC=comThe "CN=FolderHierarchies" [msExchPublicFolderTreeContainer] didn't even exist!Using ADSIEdit, we created the new container, moved the Public Folders entry, restarted the Information Store, and the error has gone.All kudos to Budamaguntla Sapthagiri for solving this for us!

how would I move the Public Folders entry? Where where they on your system. I believe I am having the same issue as you.n00b it up for me if you could. Exchange is a whole new beast for me and I've been slowly learning.thank you very much.

Using AdsiEdit (part of the Windows support tools), we found the CN=Public Folders entry under CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=company,DC=com; the CN=Folder Hierarchies,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (...),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=company,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=company,DC=com entry didn't exist.Editing the directory using AdsiEdit is not something you should undertake lightly. If you make a mistake, you may need to completely rebuild your domain. Unless you're working with a test domain, I would strongly recommend that you call Microsoft PSS rather than trying to hack the structure yourself.If you are working with a test domain, and you find that you have exactly the same problem - CN=Public Folders under CN=Microsoft Exchange, and no CN=Folder Hierarchies - you can create the Folder Hierarchies container and move the Public Folders element using AdsiEdit. The Folder Heirarchies container needs to be an msExchPublicFolderTreeContainer under the Exchange Administrative Group (...) container.

Hi all, I'm experiencing exactly the same error message, in the same environment. I had a look in ADSIedit,and as youthere wasno CN=Folder Hierarchies. But the only CN=Public folders I can find is in CN=InformationStore,CN=Exch-clus,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Myentreprise... Is it that entry that I should be moving? Thanks

is this also causing the Database storage cannot be mounted problem too ? at the moment I can't seems to mount my "Public Folder" database. I tried to delete the .edb file but it didn't let me. any idea ?
