MSExchangeTransport Error 10049
Hi, I run Exchange 2007 on Windows 2008. Everything works fine but I got error 10049 in event viewer. Failed to start listening (Error: 10049). Binding: 192.168.1.1:25. IP 192.168.1.1 is our gateway, which is SonicWall firewall. Any idea what's wrong here? Your help is highly appreciated! GraceGrace

Get the "Event Source" from that event and set that service using the switch "UnencryptedOrTLSBindings"

Hi Peddy1st, Thank you for your reply. I disabled POP3 service and IMAP4 service in my Exchange server. Could it be the reason that I got this error? Thanks again, GraceGrace

Hi Ratish, Thank you for your reply. The event source is MSExchangeTransport. Can you describe more detail how/why I use the switch "UnencryptedOrTLSBindings"? What do you think why I got the error? Is it because I disabled POP3 and IMAP4 in services? Thanks again, GraceGrace

Hi, Please check the article below to see if it can fix the problem. This issue occurs if the POP3 service is not configured to listen on a local IP address or if the receive connectors for the Transport service cannot bind to an IP address The Exchange POP3 Service or the Exchange Transport Service Does Not Restart http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd789669(v=exchg.80).aspx Xiu Zhang TechNet Community Support
