MSExchange Autodiscover Event 1 on Exchange 2007 server
I just noticed that I am getting Event 1 MSExchange Autodiscover errors every few minutes on our Exchange 2007 CAS servers. Unhandled Exception "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index" Stack Trace: at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentOutOfRangeException() at System.Collections.Generic.List`1.get_Item(Int32 index) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.MultiValuedProperty`1.get_Item(Int32 index) at Microsoft.Exchange.Autodiscover.Providers.Outlook.OutlookAutoDiscoverProvider.GetRedirectURL() at Microsoft.Exchange.Autodiscover.Core.Service.GenerateResponse() at Microsoft.Exchange.Autodiscover.Default.OnLoad(EventArgs args) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) So far I haven't found any solid troubleshooting steps... Any ideas? Jason Meyer

Hi, this error is difficult to support. Have you tried using testexchangeconnectivity.com and port the errormessage or are autodiscover settings transfered to clinet correctly? regards Thomas Paetzold visit my blog on: http://sus42.wordpress.com

Hello, Generally, autodiscover sevice serves the Outlook clients. You can do a test email autoconfiguration on the Outlook client and see if autodiscover still works: a. While Outlook is running, click the CTRL key and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and then select Test Email Autoconfiguration. b. Confirm that your email address is in the address field, uncheck Use Guessmart and secure Guessmart authentication boxes. Then click the Test button. Thanks, Simon

I have used testexchangeconnectivity.com website and the 'test e-mail autoconfiguration' feature in Outlook and both complete successfully. Any other troubleshooting I can do to eliminate this error? It is filling up my event logs so troubleshooting other issues is difficult. JasonJason Meyer

Hi, What Service Pack and Rollup are you on? If the answer is not SP3 and RU7, I recommend that you patch your server and see if that helps.Martina Miskovic

We are currently at 2007 SP3 RU6 on our Exchange 2007 machines. Looks like RU7 was pulled from Microsoft Update??? I haven't been a fan of installing patches that are not listed in Microsoft update, especially when there is talk of it breaking things: vasraghav 29 Jun 2012 12:00 AM # Hi All, Yesterday we had got confirmation from MS that there is a regression bug on this rollup which affects XCON\Multipart/Mixed attachments and they all appear Inline and not part of the message body. This is to corrected on the DLLs of HT servers - Microsoft.Internal.EmailMessage.dll and Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport.dll. It's so sad that we come to know this information only after we had put it across our customer environment this month. Please have a note. The resolution seems to be requesting a Hotfix with PSS. vasraghav WIPRO 0 Points100 Recent Achievements New Blog Commentator View Profile Jason Meyer

I don't think RU7 has been released to WU yet. If it had been withdrawn it wouldn't be available for download on Download Center. ..but I find the information you posted very interesting, so thanks!Martina Miskovic
