Installaing a brand new exchange org Server 2008, Exchange2007 SP3 (no exisiting exchange environment), parent child, domain DC server 2003SP2-functional level 2003(both child and parent) Ran setup /prepareschema it was successful. (in the domain with the schema master-parent) Ran setup /preparead /organizationname:EXCHANGE2007 (ran in parent as well) Ran setup/ preparedomain:childdomain (on parent) Installed HT/CAS servers no problem. Install MB role and get MSExchange TransportLogSearch failed to reach running on this Server. Logs states because of System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Access is denied searching everywhere for resolution Checked permission everything looks good Also this install has no internet access

Few things.. On the Management Console, do you see the mailbox server listed there ? Also see if the Stores are mounted or not? Do you see the Transport Log service is stopped state in the services console? & If yes, try to start it manually. Verify the directory that is specified by the MessageTrackingLogPath parameter on the Set-TransportServer cmdlet or the Set-MailboxServer cmdlet exists and has the following permissions assigned: · Administrators: Full Control · System: Full Control · Network Service: Read, Write, and Delete Subfolders and Files Verify that the message tracking log files are not being used and locked by other processes, such as antivirus programs or backup programs.
