MS Exchange 2007 with LDAP
Hi,
I have Windows 2008 Standard server (64-bit), and have MS Exchange 2007 Standard edition installed. I have downloaded all latest patches (for the OS and Exchange).
I have LDAP running on Linux server, and would like to utilize LDAP instead of setting up and using AD
Place I am stuck at is:
I am not able to find any documentation on how to achieve this?
I appreciate any guidance on this.
Thanks

I'm sorry to have to inform you this is not possible.
Thye main reason for this is Exchange Server uses MAPI communication besides LDAP communication towards Active Directory.

Ok, in this case, is it possible to setup AD to communicate with LDAP?
What I am thinking is:
Setup AD, then use AD for Exchange 2007. Then, some how setup AD to talk to LDAP.
LDAP is tied to lots of other applications we have, so it will be a major work for us to migrate from LDAP to AD,and I would prefer toadd /removeusers in one place.
Thanks for your help...

Hi,
Well, you need to find out some utility at Unix/Linux side to sync all the information between AD & LDAP.
You may check this... http://acctsync.sourceforge.net/

Thanks for the link.
We have Sun Java System Directory Server (to be more specific). I will look at ways to communicate from LDAP to AD.
Thanks
