We have two exchange servers mail1.domain.com and mail2.domain.com. i added both servers MX record for the domain in godaday with highest priorty for mail1.domain.com followed by mail2.domain.com. we configured users for both the servers, i have a user for example user1 created in mail1.domain.com exchange server and another user user2 in mail2.domain.com. Now, My intension is if some one from xyz send mail to user2 (user 2 account created in mail2.domain.com server and having less priority compare to mail1.domain.com), it has to deliver on mail2.domain.com exchange server box. will it work ? if not how can i occumplish this. Well... i have user account on server 2 box, and i mapped server 1 as the priority mail box followed by server 2. when some one send send mails to the user account who is in server 2 box should recieve the mail. If you are not able to understand my query please get back to me. Thanks.

Are the servers connected in any way? Same forest? Same domain? Can they see each other? If not, then you are going to configure them to share the SMTP address space, because DNS has no concept of user mapping. All email will go to the server with the highest priority, unless it isn't available. Then it will go to the second server, along with all of the spam. This Technet article explains how to configured Shared SMTP address space. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676395(EXCHG.80).aspx If the servers are in the same Forest and can see each other, then email will be delivered by Exchange to the correct server automatically.
