Mail Enabled Public Folder Deleting E-Mails
Hi, all.I set up a mail enabled Public Folder, and it seemed to be fine. However, it turned out that e-mails were being deleted after 7 days. I never set anything up to do that, and after poking it seems that setting the Age Limit for Replicas to 999 days fixed the issue. This really doesn't make sense to me, as we are not using Replicas and the deleted e-mails don't seem to have anything to do with replication anyway.Just curious at this point; am I missing something or is this a known bug? Thanks.

The Replica is the copy of the public folder, even if its just one.Note that age limits can be set at the database level or folder level or with a system policy if this is 2003.Clearing the value means no age limits.

This is 2007, and no age limits were set at the Db level. The age limit for replicas was at the default, which was blank (I think). When I set that to 999, it stopped. Maybe it was 7 days as the default in that field??Anyway, you're saying the Age Limit for Replicas IS in fact why the e-mailss were being deleted, and this is expected? I guess I don't understand.Thanks.

Therere three places to set the age, local replica, overall folder and database level. By default, mails wont be deleted
You can verify the setting with the cmdlet below:
Get-PublicFolder \FolderName | fl *age*
Public Folder Database Properties > Limits Tab
