Mail arrives in box that is not a List member
Hi, Exchange 2007 and Outlook2007 Am relatively new to Exchange Admin so sorry if this is obvious to some. I have a generic mailbox that is not a member of any Dynamic Distribution List yet when mail is sent to some of these lists, for example the 'All-Staff' list, mail still arrives in this particular mailbox. I have run the Preview from within the D/L in the management console to confirm that the mailbox is not a list member. I have run message tracking but it only shows the message sender and the mailbox 'records' as the recipient with no middle party. I'm guessing that some staff member has set-up a forward or rule to this generic address by mistake... Does anyone have any command or idea how I can find this ? thanks Andy

Hi, Did you check if the forwarding is set from the exchange side? If no run the below command and check if you find the address in the output Get-mailbox | Fl -Property ForwardingAddress Mahendra

Perhaps one list member has a rule to forward the message there, or the generic mailbox is an alternate recipient of a list member.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.". Display all users with Forwarding address: Get-Mailbox | Where {$_.ForwardingAddress -ne $null} | Select Name, ForwardingAddress, DeliverToMailboxAndForward Thanks, Richard.
