Mail being forwarded to other user
Hi We are using Exchange 2010. One of the bosses was on holiday and he wanted all his email forwarded to his number 2. SO we went to his mailbox properties and under Delivery Options we added a forward (store and copy). All good. Now he is back and we removed that setting on Monday (it's now Wed). But mails are still being forwarded to the second in charge. It's getting embarassing now as I don't know how to stop them :) Boss: james@company.com Second in charge: chuck@company.com I looked at Exchange Message Tracking for one of the sample messages, and the entry for the mail going to Chuck@company.com is AGENT RECEIVE and AGENT DELIVER. Any ideas on how to find out what is causing this? Anything in AD/ ADSI that I could look at? Outlook has no rules that I can see. But then is it possible that there is one rogue Outlook client out there with this local rule set up? Or does that rule get synced to the Exchange Delivery Options we see?

Rules are propagated to the mailbox unless it is a client only rule. There have been some reported cases of hidden rules and the only way to check these it to use a tool like MFCMAPI to connect to the box and see if there are any rules that are not appearing in Outlook. http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/ Use the following in powershell to make sure the boss doesnt have forwarding setup: get-mailbox BOSS | fl *forward*

Thanks So the result of that command was negative. I'm guessing that means that either there is a Transport rule doing this or a hidden Outlook rule? Do you know where to check in MFCMAPI for the Outlook rule?

You will need full access to the mailbox in question, click session, logon, select the profile that goes to your bosses account. Here is a MS article on the steps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924297 Also, check out your transport rules to make sure someone didnt set one up, had that happen to me once that had me chasing my tail for a little while.
