Mail merge in Word/Outlook 2010 using multiple email accounts in Outlook

I use Outlook for my email client, for several external email addresses along with my ISP address in Verizon.  When doing a mail merge, I want to use one of the "other" email accounts, NOT the Verizon one (which is the first/main).  Unfortunately there is no option to choose which account the emails go out under unless I missed it.  I ran the mail merge and it went off successfully but the account the emails went out under was the ISP account with Verizon.  Since these emails are pertaining to a company to which I have an internal email address, I wanted the emails to go out under that account instead.  I have that account as one of the accounts in Outlook.  I also had it set to "Default" but still the emails went out under the main email account.

Please help.

Well, it looks like I have found another "work around", this time to solve the email account problem (I was also able to solve the attachment problem in another thread).  To use a different email account than the main one, create a new profile (using the preferred email address)from Control Panel, Mail, then choose the selection to prompt for profile.  Close Outlook and reopen, when it asks which profile, choose the preferred one, then click on the Send/Receive tab and choose "Work Offline".

Next, import the email list into contacts, and do the mail merge.  For me, I also needed to include an attachment, so I used the Outlook Mail Merge Attachment (http://omma.sourceforge.net/) tool, and it edits all the email in the outbox to attach the item desired.  Once done, click on Send/Receive again and choose "Work Online".  Now click the Send/Receive All Folders button and you're done.

This was a huge undertaking for me, and I have been researching this for TWO days.  Nobody was able to offer any suggestions from any of the forums I went to, so perhaps these solutions should be disseminated through the forums for others to benefit.

Another "work around" is first close outlook, then to go through the control panel-> mail-> email accounts..., and select the other email account as your default.  But don't forget to change it back to your own email once done with the mail-merge.

Changing the default email account in the control panel as a workaround apparently doesn't work with IMAP accounts (e.g. gmail).

This is the simple and easy way to do. Worked great for me.

One other thing that worked for me is that I opened Outlook and go to Tools --> Account Settings. Click on the other account from which you want to send emails and set it as Default account.

This one worked for me after trying half a dozen other solutions that failed.
