Hi there, I'm setting up a new Exchange server for my company. This is a hosted service, so I'm using an EMC interface. We use in our company around 50 domain names and my goal is to setup a single mailbox to each user and map all relevant addresses of each user to his single mailbox. One thing I'm not sure about is whether I can setup a Mail Rule that catches incoming mail to a specific non-existent address (not even as an alias) and redirects it to an existing mailbox. I guess the real question is what Exchange does first: checking if the recipient exists OR mail rules. If mail rules happen first then my rule will redirect the message and all good. If the server first checks whether the recipient exists then it will bounce the email and my rule won't even be evaluated. I can't test it because my company currently uses a different mail server and I need to prepare it all and then switch to the Exchange server.. So - what comes first? Recipient check or mail rules? :-) Thanks a lot!
