Mail sending limit
Dear All, I have Exchange 2003 installed on ADC. RDC is at other location A. At location A there is one more exchange 2003 My problem is that whenever I apply mail sending limit to any particular user, It works but takes longer time to apply this settings. (1 Hour or more). Kindly suggest the solution. Sandeep

Hey Sandeep,
This is expected behavior of Exchange, it may take up to two hours to get the information refreshed due to IS cache.
However you can restart the IS service to apply immediately but it impact all users of that server so alternatively you can set the registry settings to reduce the cache information limit but of course it would impact the performance of your Exchange server a bit. Hi Amit, I followed the same KB article given by you. It have solved my one problem which was related to SMTP address. Before it would take long time to update SMTP email address in user's properties. But my following problems are not solved yet. 1- When I apply mail sending or recieving limit to any particular user, It takes more than hour time to take effect. 2- I have one more problem which was not mentioned before is== At one location we have test.com as a recipient address and at another location we have testasia.com as email address policy. Now If I create one user called user1 then it's SMTP email address will become user1@test.com but I want this address to be user1@testasia.com. Kindly suggest.Sandeep

1st Problem:- In KB it is mentioned @ Point 6
Note The default value is two hours (7200). The recommended value is 20 minutes (1200).
What value have you set? 2nd Probelm:- At one location we have test.com as a recipient address and at another location we have testasia.com as email address policy. Now If I create one user called user1 then it's SMTP email address will become user1@test.com but I want this address to be user1@testasia.com. That is because test.com is your default Recipient Policy. That is why whenever you create any mailbox which donot satisfy any condition specified by other policy in that case it will be stamped with default policy. You need to find out the filter of testasia.com and then set the attribute on that Mailbox. Read below to understand about same http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319201 Vinod

Hi,1 St problem I set the value 900 Sec2nd problemWe have local domain test .comat one location user recipient policy is @test.comAt other location it is testasia.comthere is seperate OU for testasia usersI want to know that if I create user in testasia OU, then that user's smtp email address should become @testasia.com.Can you please suggest what should I do.Both locations have exchange 2003 server in sigle forest and sindle domain.Sandeep
