Mailbox Replication Service

I have an Exchange 2010 server whose mailbox replication service is using 99% of CPU

all mailboxes are on 2010

I have a legacy 2003 SBS that is not doing anything and has most/all of the exchange services stopped.

I disabled the replication service on 2010 to reclaim cpu..next morning mailbox database and public folder database were dismounted and would not mount until I started the replication service.

I assumed this service was only needed for mailbox moves not production messaging services/database availabili

Hi

Can you check if there is any move request initiated in the server

Also check if any pst export/import task is queued

Its not advisable to stop this service as it is involved in all move requests, import/export and this will be stopped.

I would better advise you to run perfmon  and few other things to look into the performance issue

Make sure that you are not stopping Microsoft Exchange Replication Service (DAG)

Hi,

From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:

The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service is responsible for mailbox move requests. It should not lead to mailbox database dismounted. Please check if other services Exchange server needed are not running.

Hope my clarification can be helpful to you.

Best regards,
