Mailbox Size Reductions
Probably a stupid question but you guys should take pity on 5.5 admins that've just made the quantum leap to 2007. BeforeI exmerged my mailboxes from 5.5, Inoted the size of each. The database was the same sizebefore and after. This was about 2 months ago. I just checked them using the EMS. Mine was the largest at about 900MB. Now its about 200MB short. As far as I can tell, Im not missing anything and havent deleted anything substantial. That about 22%. The few other top 10s Ive checked all seem to be from 20-25% smaller. Is this just another mystical function of 2007 or do I need to up my meds?uising Enterprise 64 bit, 1 store on 2003

Have performed the offline defrag of the database recently on the server? or have you implemented Managed Folder Mailbox policy?

Exchange 5.5 was notorious for mis-reporting mailbox sizes.

Boy, that's for sure!I moved 10's of thousands of mailboxes in my 5.0 / 5.5 days, and almost none of them had the same size OR number of items after - I worried the first several hundred, but it never turned out bad.Karl
