Mailbox and log file moves in Exchange 2010
I need to move some very large mailboxes to even the sizes of my mailstores as well as move the log files to anothe partition. I have a mailstore that is over 1T and I need to balance. With that being said do I need to perform a full backup (which takes
a long time) then turn on circular logging for the large mailstore and the one I want to move it to? Should I move the log file to another partition prior to the backup and mailbox moves?

I would run a backup, but you shouldn't need to enable cicular logging. Most of the log generation is on the target database, not the source.

Hi,
Backup before you moving database or logging file would be a safe method.
For Circular logging, I would not to enable it.
