Mailbox archiving
I have Exchang Server 2007. When user is about exceed the limit of their mailbox, they need either delete or archive their emails in order to make their mailbox smaller. However from administration stand point, I need to know when they either delete or
archive their emails in case I need to restore them from the tape. Can anybody tell me the scrip or the way to do? Thanks!Wayne Ji

When users delete items in their mailbox, those items go to the recoverable items folder (aka "dumpster"). This folder does not count against the user's quota, but it does allow them to restore messages from OWA or Outlook directly. Exchange
2007 and later hold on to this content for 14 days by default. No need to restore from tape unless its older than that.
What you are asking for is some sort of notification each time a user deletes a message, which would be be impossible to manage.

Thanks Mike. But you didn't answer my question. Let's say user archived his email 30 days ago. Then the user deleted his archive folder for some reason. Now the user needs all his email restore but he forgot when he archived his emails. How do I know the
date he archived his emails so I can find emails from my backups?Wayne Ji
