Mailbox issues
I needed to run eseutil and isinteg on one of our mailbox databases(db1). Before I ran maintenance we moved the users to a new database(db2). Once maintenance was finished I moved the users back to db1.Now when any user indb1 needs to view there tasks it shows as loading (but never loads). I've tried moving the users back to db2 but the error follows them. Also any messages read in Outlook are not showing up as read on there blackberry devices.Users on the other databases are not effected (total of 6 db's).I just tried removing my mailbox from Exchange and creating a new mailbox and that fixed the problems (not a practical solution for 30 mailboxes with approx 35GB of data). Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks,
D

Hi,
How did you move the mailbox, via Exchange Task Wizard Or Exmerge.exe?
During the move, a detailed move mailbox report log is generated. You can find this report is in XML format and is saved in the drive :\Documents and Settings\ Profile \My Documents\Exchange Task Wizard Logs folder.
Please check that report to see whether any error generated there.
Besides, you may follow the steps listed in the below article to troubleshoot this issue.
Moving mailboxes in Exchange Server 2003

Administrator Program Dump Files (Admindmp.txt)

Also, please try to collect any related error event in the event viewer and then post here.

Xiu

I'm sorry I should have clarified..its an Exchange 2007 machine. I used EMC to move the mailboxes. Will EMC keep a log also? Here's some of the errors from event viewer.

I usually just move all the mailboxes off the database, then dismount the database and delete the database file. When I remount the database file, a new empty database is created. I am not sure if this is a 'best practice', but it has always worked for me.
Any Microsoft PSS folks want to comment on this?

Hi,
Please follow the below steps to troubleshoot this issue.
1. Start OL in safe mode <Start->Run->fill in "outlook /safe">
2. Create new OL profile for user <Control Panel->Mail->Show Profile->New>
If the above steps do not help, then we need use MFCMAPI tool.
1. Use MFCMAPI to delete tasks folder, then Open OL with switch "/resetfolders" .
a)Download MFCMAPI (Plus manual)
http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/details.aspx?familyid=55FDFFD7-1878-4637-9808-1E21ABB3AE37&displaylang=en
b) Run MFCMAPI on a client workstation which has a affected user's profile
c) "Session" Menu->"logon and display store table"->choose user's profile from pop-up window->double-click user's mailbox->open root container window->expand "IPM_SUBTREE"->right-click "task" and choose "delete folder"
d) Start->Run->fill in "outlook /resetfolders". (This switch will recreate missing Task folder)
Hope it helps.

When I open the root container window I don't see "IPM_SUBTREE" under the users mailbox. I see it under the public folders.

It looks like you have a sick database (or at least a sick mailbox) on your hands. Can you try and use Outlook to export the entire mailbox out to a PST file? Is anything left in the mailbox afterwards? I have seen similar problems but not in a long time. To solve them, I had to export as much of the mailbox content to PST as I possible could, then delete the mailbox and recreated it.

I exported all the mail to a PST file deleted the mailbox and recreated it and that worked. I also created a new mail DB and moved some of the effected mailboxes and that also worked. Very strange problem. Any ideas what could cause this? I personally think isinteg may have caused some of my troubles.
