I'm new to exchange. Is there a command to delete the contents of a mailbox without deleting the mailbox? One of our programmers has been using the administrator mailbox to have confirmations sent to. Well no one checks this account and now there are ALOT of unread messages. When I try to access the account it completely locks up exchange 2007.

Thanks for responding Raj. When you do this does it copy the contents or completely remove the contents and place them in pst?

If all the messages are in a standard folder (e.g. "Inbox") you canadd a new Managed Default Folder, a new Managed Content Settings, anda new Managed Folder Mailbox Policy. Then add that policy to the user.Use the start-managedfolderassistant with the -mailbox parameter andthe mailbox will be handled a lot more efficiently than Outlook does.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP
