Hi, I have one Exchange server 2007 with the HT MB and CAS roles installed, ServerA, and one with the MB role only installed, ServerB. The plan is to move the Mailboxes from SeverA to ServerB, several at a time over the next week or so. The public folder DB will stay on Server A. The majority of the users have access to shared Mailboxes as well as their own. We are using Outlook 2003. I have just moved a user from ServerA to ServerB. When I reopened his Outlook, it asked what Exchange server I should connect to. ServerB had been prefilled in to connection settings. My qestions are these, if I enter the name of the CAS server, ie ServerA into this box, will the user still have access to the Public Folders. Also Which version is version 8.1(Build 240.6), is this with SP1? Thanks

For Exch 2007, Outlook connect directly to the mailbox role. So you need to specify the mailbox server that the user is on. As far as public folders go, you need to designate the default public folder for the mailbox database in the database settings. Hi Zbiehu, For your additional question, is about version 8.1 (Build 240.6). 8 is the major version number, the .1 portion indicates it is SP1 .240 is the build number, and the .6 is the minor build number. So currently, you are using Exchange 2007 SP1.
