Mailbox move
When i move the mailbox from E2k3 to E2k7 in the co-existance (PF replication enabled from E2k3 to E2k7 ) does the free / busy info get copied to the calendar directly ? as i have heard that E2k7 stores the Free / busy info directly into the mailbox rather than Free/busy folder on the PFswamy

The free/busy data is stored in a system folder in each 2007 mailbox called, well, "Freebusy Data".You can view the folder using mfcmapi:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=55FDFFD7-1878-4637-9808-1E21ABB3AE37&displaylang=enhttp://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/There is no copying. The data is generatedwithin the mailbox.

Hi Andy,Thanks for the info so far.I have a co-existance scenario where i have just introduced 2007 in a 2003 org. I have createda replica of the PF from 2003 to 2007. Now i need to move the mailboxes from 2003 to 2007. when i move themailbox does the free/busy data for user A stored on the 2003 Free/busy PF folder get copied Free/busy system folder on on 2007 mailbox? In the case the free/busy data is stored at two places 1) on the mailbox ( free/busy folder) and the free/busy PF on the 2007 (through replica)swamy

Outlook 2007 clients on Exchange 2007 will "publish" the free/busy data to both places as mentioned in that URL:Note: In order to maintain backwards compatibility, Exchange 2007 mailboxes using Outlook 2007 clients will utilize the Availability service for retrieving data, but also publish to a free/busy public store, since legacy clients also need to retrieve free/busy data. If your clients are Outlook 2003, they will publish their free/busy only to the pf store folders.

Hi,For the Exchange 2003, Outlook 2003 clients use the Public Folder to query others user's free/buy information. Thus, Outlook clients need to publish itself free/busy to the Schedule+ Free Busy system folders in the Public Folder store even though it has the FreeBusy data within the mailbox. For the Exchange 2007, Outlook 2007 clients use the Availability service to retrieve the free/busy information from the mailbox directly. In the scenario Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003 coexistence:Pure Outlook 2007:In an environment where all connecting clients are Outlook 2007:1, Outlook 2007 clients connecting to Exchange 2007 mailboxes use the Availability service to retrieve free/busy information.2, Outlook 2007 clients connecting to legacy Exchange mailboxes continue to use public folders to access free/busy information because they cannot use the Availability service.Outlook 2007 and Legacy Outlook:In an environment where connecting clients are mixed legacy Outlook and Outlook 2007, the Availability service and public folders are both used to retrieve free/busy information. For publishing, all clients (both legacy and Outlook 2007) need to publish free/busy information because: 1, Legacy clients can only retrieve free/busy information from the free/busy messages stored in the Schedule+ Free Busy system folders in the Public Folder store.2, Outlook 2007 clients connecting to legacy Exchange mailboxes cannot use the Availability service for free/busy information and will use public folders instead.3, To service free/busy lookups the Availability service needs to retrieve free/busy information for Exchange 2003 mailboxes from public folders. For retrieval:1, Outlook 2007 connecting to Exchange 2007 mailboxes accesses everyones free/busy information via the Availability service, which can retrieve Exchange 2007 mailbox free/busy information from the mailbox and Exchange 2003 mailbox free/busy information from public folders. 2, Outlook 2007 clients connecting to legacy Exchange mailboxes continue to use public folders to access free/busy information because they cannot use the Availability service.3, Legacy Outlook accesses everyones free/busy information via public foldersFor the free/busy replication, the information will be replicated once the replica is added which accociated with Exchange 2007 Public Folder Store. When moving the mailbox, only the content of the mailbox iteself has been moved not related to the free/busy in the system folder of the public folder.ThanksAllen

When you move MBX the Free busy data will not be copied or replicated until and unless you add the Schedule free busy replica from ex2003 to ex2007 and schedule free busy can be found under system folders in public foldersVinod
