Mailbox with receiving creation
I am using Exchange 2007 and would like to create a mailbox just for sending out alerts to the public. Users should not be able to reply to the emails. How do I configure this?

You probably do not need a mailbox to do this. It sounds as if there is some system that will send out alerts using scripts or some other automated method. Usually all you need to do is enter an email address in the alert configuration and that address will be in the From field; it doesn't have to be valid. You could just use a name such as no-reply@domain.comThe only caveat is that if you are sending to distribution groups instead of individuals you will need to configure the DLs to allow unauthenticated users to send to them.TBrennan

I agree with TBrennan. If you justwant one mailbox can't receive external email. You could set it as "require that all senders are authenticated" in message delivery option of that user.

Hi,
You could also configure Accepted Senders for the mailbox in Exchange 2007 using following path in Exch Maangement Console:
Maibox->Properties->Mail Flow Settings->Message Delivery Restrictions
You can select 'Accept Messages From->Only Seneders in The Following List"
where you can put your email address or some other email address.

And to add to the suggestions, you could also set the reply address to a mail-enabled distribution group adding that no reply SMTP address to it, buthave no members in the group. Any responses to it will simply disappear.
