Major errors after installing SP1
This is following my previous issue that i reported earlier except this hasa few more issues and more detailed. I installed SP1 for exchange 2007. All went well until i received an an error about a Hub transport that should have a FQDN. After this, the installation pretty much failed i think. I then couldnt start pop3 and imap4 services. Eventually i ran windows update and installed the rollup that i found. This in turn has made things worse as i have two errors report almost every 20 seconds: Event 2214 and 2268 Event Type:ErrorEvent Source:W3SVC-WPEvent Category:NoneEvent ID:2214Date:05/12/2008Time:14:24:29User:N/AComputer:ServerDescription:The HTTP Filter DLL C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\owa\auth\owaauth.dll failed to load. The data is the error. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.Data:0000: 05 00 00 00 .... Event Type:ErrorEvent Source:W3SVC-WPEvent Category:NoneEvent ID:2268Date:05/12/2008Time:14:24:29User:N/AComputer:ServerDescription:Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.Data:0000: 05 00 00 00 .... At this point ive searched around but cant find any resolutions and any "possible" resolutions im afraid to try because i dont want this to get any worse. Bythat i mean i can send receive mails via outlook but owa i cant even access. When accessing owa and changing the web config file (i set the mode to Off" i receive - Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog]. After reading a bit more it seems i have to make some changes and run some commands to re-install SP1 but i rather have some advise from you guys just before i try anything. Sorry for the lengthy rant but hopefully this will help you guys direct me in the right direction i hope. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Hi, The main cause of the issue is that files are missing under the folders "basic" and "premium" located under the Default Web Site>OWA>8.0.7xx.x>scripts folder due to the incomplete or corrupt installation of update rollups. First please try to manually remove the "Exchange OWA Cookie Authentication ISAPI Filter" (owaauth.dll) under the Default Web Site and then check the issue. 1. Open IIS Manager. 2. Navigate to the Web site that hosted the OutlookWebAccessvirtual directory, right-click the Web site name, and then select Properties. 3. Select the ISAPI filters tab. Remove the Exchange OWA Cookie Authentication ISAPI filter entry. If that do not fix the problem, then please go through the steps below: 1. First please ensure that the authentication on the 8.0.7xx.x folders is set to only "Anonymous" authentication. 2. Please check that the "basic" folder should contain 19 files and "premium" folder 45 files. If it is the issue, then we can un-install any previous update rollups and re-install the latest update rollup available at the time which will re-install the owaauth.dll file. Then reboot the server and test the issue. NOTE: 8.0.7xx.x corresponds to the Update Rollup packs for Exchange 2007 as below.8.0.700.0 gets created when Rollup 1 (930809) is installed.8.0.709.0 gets created when Rollup 2 (935490) is installed.8.0.730.1 gets created when Rollup 3 (935999) is installed.8.0.744.0 gets created when Rollup 4 (940006) is installed. Note: If it still fails then un-installation of CAS, IIS and re-installation of IIS and CAS is the only way to fix it. Best regards, Xiu
