Make only certain outlook events public

I know that I can set my default calendar setting to public and then mark my events as private as necessary.

However, is the reverse possible?

By default, I would like my events to be private.  

Occasionally, I would like to make an event or two public (e.g. visiting corp. HQ from Mon-Wed) etc.

Is that possible?
