Managed Folder Mailbox Policy
On Exchange 2003, I managed a couple of subfolders in a user's Inbox (inputting Inbox/Alerts/HS Alerts). How can I do the same thing in Exchange 2007. Managed Custom Folders looks like it will create the folder in their Inbox, I just want to be able to manage already existing specific subfolders.dee

Hi Dee,
In Exchange 2007, by default, the managed content settings apply to the root folder and all subfolders. Therefore, you can create managed content setting on Inbox in order to manage subfolders of Inbox folder. Please refer to following KB:
Note: Please read the example of the KB.
By default, managed content settings apply to the root folder and all subfolders in an Exchange 2007 environment

Hi Danilda, Managed folder Mailbox Policy can be applied for Individual Defaul Mailbox folders ( Ex. Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted items etc). It can be futher classified and applied for particular type of messages ( Ex. Mail item, Calendar item, Voice message etc). For an example one can create 2 policies under default deleted folder. 1. To delete mail items after 20 days from deleted folder. 2. To delete voice messages after 5 days from deleted folder. Ref to the following articles which may give more idea about Managing Messaging Policy and Compliance Features. Hi Dee
Based on my research, I do not find a method to manage content of one or two specific subfolders. I have sent the problem to our discussion group to check whether they have any suggestions.
