Hi Everyone A little bit confused on the relationship between these two in Exchange 2007 Sp1 I understand that I can apply a MFP to a mailbox as per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996575.aspx I can also schedule the MFA as per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123958.aspx However, two questions: i) The first article - just applying the MFP to a mailbox - does this mean the policy actually runs on the mailbox? Or does it not run until the MFA is scheduled for it to run? ii) If applying a MFP (but no MFA) to all mailboxes on my server, I assume this will take a lot of processing power - what if it got to much and I wanted to cancel it, how could I do that? iii) Likewise, if the MFA was running and it was taking too much resources, how could I cancel? If you don't have the Mailbox Folder Assistant scheduled to run, andyou don't use the start-managedfolderassistant cmdlet then the act ofadding the policy to mailboxes is pretty trivial.>iii) Likewise, if the MFA was running and it was taking too much resources, how could I cancel? Apply the policy to a subset of your mailboxes at a time. Wait untilafter the MFA runs and then add some more mailboxes. Repeat until allthe mailboxes are under the policies and the MFA has run once for allof them.
