MapiDagNetwork Misconfigured - Cluster replication network accepts client connections via Replication Network

Our Clutered Exchange 2013  enviroment MapiNetwork Is currently showing a status of misconfigured. Both the replication and Mapi subnets are configured under the same DAG Network.

Furthermore when you look at the failover cluster manager network nodes network 2 and network 3 all network connections are set to Allow clients to connect through this network even though Network 3 is purely meant for network replication.

Do I need to update the Cluster network nodes so clients will only be accepted on the none replication network or will they automatically update when I recreate the DAG Networks to seperate MapiNetwork from the Replication Network in Exchange 2013 ECP console.

Hi,

Based on the description, it seems that DAG automatic network configuration is not able to correctly determine how to configure each network.

You can manually configure DAG network to check result. You can look at the following article for more information.

DAG Network Shows Misconfigured In Exchange 2013 Server

Hope this is helpful to you.

Hi Belinda,

Thanks for for the reply, I have actually already tried this myself but unfortunatley it was unsuccessful. When I ran the CMD i get an error

WARNING: No static address matched networks 'Cluster Network 3'. Specified static addresses: '172.22.1.34'

The Cluster IP address ranges are as follows

172.22.1.0/24 - Mapi

172.22.13.128/25 - Replication

Can you get the output of :

Get-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup -Status | fl Name,Severs,*IP*

Get-DatabaseAvailabilityGroupNetwork | fl

I think you might need to collapse and recreate dag networks.

Follow the process outlined on the link: http://blogs.technet.com/b/timmcmic/archive/2011/09/26/exchange-2010-collapsing-dag-networks.aspx to collapse and recreate DAG Networks.

Do you really need a separate replication network? Simplify it and have just one network for both MAPI and REPL assuming you have at least 10Gb LAN network.

Yes as mentioned by Andy its better to go with a single Network for both Replication and Client connection that will definitely simplify things,

Also you can just check below articles.

Please see output from CMD's below.

We do not have a 10GB internal LAN network so perhaps I do need to recreate the networks. That article seems to indicate its something that is done on the Cluster Network Nodes and not in the Exchange DAG network.. .Is that correct?

When you say it is Cluster network Nodes it refers to DAG.

So If i recreate the networks on the DAG will that update the networks in cluster manager so only the mapi network is selected for "Allow clients to connect through this network"?
