MaxOutboundConnections
Hello, I have an Exchange 2007 (Hub Transport Role) question. We have a problem with e-mail delivery regarding e-mail blasting. Is there a way to limit the queue to only process a certain amount of messages at once. The problem is that someone delivered 1200 e-mails at once (the user is sending one at a time with an automated process in Outlook - one e-mail address per message and a ClickYes program). This process queued up all 1200 recipients at once and bogged down DNS/WINS/e-mail delivery. Would I need to set the MaxOutboundConnections property for TransportServer (our settings below)? Our current EnvelopeSize is 50. Thank you for any assistance. :) PS C:\> get-transportserver | select MaxOutboundConnections,MaxPerDomainOutbound Connections,Identity MaxOutboundConnections MaxPerDomainOutboundConnec Identity tions ---------------------- -------------------------- -------- 1000 20 CLEHBHTS01 unlimited unlimited clehbets01

1200 messages isnt really that large. Are your hub transports properly sized?

Hello, Thank you for the replies. I'm not sure what you mean is hub transport properly sized. I do know that when the Process ran for client's Outlook, it queued up 1200 individual messages at once and killed DNS/WINS/mail delivery company wide temporarily. Some people reported problems logging in onto the DOMAIN as well. I want to know how I can fix this. As mentioned before, we do regular billing and we use a program that transmits billing invoices via Outlook (1 e-mail address per envelope). The billing software utilizes the ClickYes program to allow access to send. Any solution to minimize how much e-mail in the queue can process at one time? I think what happened is that the queue processed all 1200 e-mails at once causing DNS/WINS to fail and slow down regular e-mail delivery.
