Measuring email delivery both internally and externally ?

I would like to be able to monitor the time in which it takes for emails to be delivered internally and externally.  Is this possible ?  We use SCOM it would seem that some MPs were created for Exchange 2010 does anyone have any further information on what is possible and how ?

Thanks in advance.

Tech11-EU,

Have you tried using Test-Mailflow from the Exchange Management Shell?

I did see this for 2013.  Ideally wanted integration with SCOM for proactive metric threshold alerting. From what I understand Test-Mailflow is also only for 2013 and not 2010 ?

Last time I checked, it was still valid for Exchange 2010. Try Get-Help Test-Mailflow -Detailed and use this for your scenarios.

Hi Eu,

Thank you for your question.

By my understanding, you want to monitor time which email were delivered to internal or external, we could use message tracking logging to view it. By default, the message tracking log files exist in %ExchangeInstallPath%TransportRoles\Logs\MessageTracking.

We could refer to the following link:

Notice: this link also apply to Exchange 2010.

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim
