Meeting Rooms - migrated to Exchange 2010 - no longer receive email confirming resources were booked
Hi All, We recently migrated to Exchange 2010 with the majority of users on Outlook 2003...slowing going to Outlook 2007. When a user books a meeting room resource they used to receive an email that said the meeting room resources were successfully booked. I could've sworn that the meeting rooms also indicated that they were "busy." The result now is that users no longer receive the message that resources were successfully booked and the meeting room indicator is "tentative" instead of busy. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thank you very much, Mr Mister

Can you check whether you have pointed Exchange 2007 database to exchage 2003 public folder. As your client is outlook 2003, you must point Exchange 2010 DB to a PF server. Use the Client Settings tab to view and select the default public folder database and the offline address book (OAB) for the mailbox: Default public folder database This box shows the location of the default public folder database. The public folder database stores public folder data, OAB information, and free/busy information for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and earlier versions. To change the location of the default public folder database, click Browse and select a new location. Anil

Hi, Could you check the following settings? Tools > Options > Preferences > [Calendar Options...] > [Resource Scheduling...] and set: [/] Automatically accept meeting requests and process cancellations [/] Automatically decline conflicting meeting requests [ ] Automatically decline recurring meeting requests. Save these settings.Regards from www.windowsadmin.info

Hi All, It turns out that we need to convert our rooms using powershell: Set-Mailbox ConfRoom1 -Type Room http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201749.aspx Once that is done, then on the Room, check the box "Enable the Resource Booking Attendant. The Resource Booking Attendant enables the resource mailbox to process requests and cancellations automatically. That's fine, just wasn't aware that would be a requirement. Thank you very much for your responses, Mr Mister
