Meeting request delay show in user's calendar
Hi all
When I was supporting a partner, he encountered the following issue:
Environment:
=============
Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003
Symptom:
============
If a user send an meeting request/appointment to another user, the meeting will not show in both users calendar until waiting for about
15-20 minutes.
If another user receive the meeting request, the items will be in both user's calendar immediately.
The issue occurred after installing a patch, but even delete the udpate and restore the registry key failed to solve the issue.
I'm curious what will lead to this symptom. Is there any Registry control this behavior?

Maybe the something went bad with the outlook sniffer. Test again by sending another meeting request, then close outlook and launch outlook /sniff and see if it processes the meeting request and adds it to the calendar.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Which patch?
Users in cache or online mode?
What does message tracking show?

Hi
We have tried both online mode and cached mode, the results are the same.
Even in OWA, the behavior is the same. So i think it is irrelavent of the Outlook sniffer.

Hello Leo,
Suppose the issue occurs when A send meeting requests to B but it does not occur when send meeting request to C.
Are B and C in the same site, mailbox database?
The B user accept the A user’s invite in Outlook but the corresponding item is not present in both A and B users’ calendars, is it?
Does this issue occur when log on the B user to another machine?
We can try:
1.
Log on and configure the problematic account on a new computer.
2. Close
Outlook.
3. Run
“Outlook /cleanfreebusy” to start the Outlook again to see if the calendar item works properly.
Thanks,
Simon

Hi
Sorry. May be i'm not make myself understood.
In your example, if user A has this problem, he has problem when sending e-mail to all users.
Also, if another user accpet the meeting request immediately, the meeting will go to both users' calendar immediately.
I have not experienced this issue before, so any suggstion or explaination will be apprecaited.
Thank you!Best regards,

Hi,
Also, i believe it is server side issue because even in OWA it is the same issue.
Thanks.

Hello Leo,
So, the issue occurs because there is a delay when the user send meeting request or emails to other users.
Does this issue occur when log on the A user to another machine?
If the issue persists on another machine, it seems to be a user mailbox issue and we can try deleting and rebuilding a new mailbox to workaround this
issue. Note to backup the contents in Outlook before the rebuild.
Thanks,
Simon

Hi,
Based on our test, this issue even occur on new users. we have created two test users and the issue persists.
Also, we have changed a new machine with a new Outlook profile before, but the issue still here.
