It seems the folder is not created by Exchange Server. Consequently, Id recommend you verify whether the folder can be modified in the first place.
We can try rename the folder and see if the Exchange environment is affected.

Those folders i think are created during Dagcluster. Normally they are not that big and contains :MS,Journal and indexdata folder.Depends on your exchange environment and how many database you got.
try to run Test-replicationhealth in EMC and see if you get any error.
There is no DAG, only one database. Here is the directory for one of them.

These files are Exchanges Content Indexes and you should expect them to be approximately 10% of your database size and count for that when you design your storage. Used during searches by Outlook running in Online Mode , mobile devices and when running eDiscovery.
