When the merge wizard tries to move data between the RSG mailbox and then production mailbox, it matches the 2 mailboxes up based on the legacyExchangeDN (distinguished name). Did you delete and recreate the mailbox that you are trying to merge? It is possible that the legacyExchangeDN is different after the mailbox was recreated. Do you have access to the full message? The GUID of the mailbox in the RSG must match the GUID of the production mailbox. So you cant merge it. In your situation, I dont think its a good idea to go on troubleshooting why the disconnected mailbox cant be linked. As you recreated AD, even we do it at last, there can be some potential issues. I think we should create a new environment and extract your data to pst file and then import the pst file to your production mailbox.
