Not sure I understand the issue. Why do you want to block the replies from the users who have permissions to send to the DL?

Are the replies being made by authenticated users (typically those using RPC connections to the mailb, Outlook Anywhere, OWA, or ActiveSync), or are they replies from people using POP/IMAP clients (who also use SMTP to send messages), or are the from external recipients (who also use SMTP to send those replies)? Okay guys, I apologize but I may not have been clear on my initial question, We have a DL that everyone in our agency is a member of. When we send out an agency wide email everyone gets it. Our COO only wants certain mambers to send out agency wide emails. I have created a group in the EMC that can only send messages to the agency wide DL. I tried to send an email to the DL from someone NOT in the approved group, and it is blocked(This is what I want). BUT, if an email is sent from the approved group to the agency wide DL, anyone can reply to the agency wide DL. Our COO wants to cut down on everyone responding to the agency.(too much back and forth and everyone has to read all these responses. I would like to have replies from users not in the approved senders group blocked as well. I would only like to members of the approved group send and reply.

If the message was sent BY the "approved group" and one of the recipient's replies to the message it should be delivered to the "approved group", not the "agency wide DL". The only way the "agency wide DL" would receive the message would be if the recipient used "Reply All" or if the "approved group" included the "agency wide DL" as a member.
