Message Restrictions on Distribution Groups
Is it possible to restrict a distribution groupbesides authentication or having a local contact for each user?
Scenario:
Parent company with 2 subsidiaries, each has their own mail system. Currently there is no GAL synchronization between mail systems. My office has an All Local Staff style distribution group that needs to be restricted to only receive email from the parent company and other subsidiary. Both subsidiaries share a common email domain name (example: @subcn.com) and the parent company has its own (example: @cn.com) different one.
System:
Exchange 2003 SP2
Windows 2003 Server, Enterprise SP1
Only 1 server (no front-ends or bridgeheads)
Active Directory 2003 SP1(2000 native) Note: Exchange server is NOT the DC
Thanks for any help in advance,
Kevin Mertel

Are you in the same AD forest or are there trust relationships between domains? If so, you can set permissions on who is allowed to send to that grop on the exchange general tab of the distribution group.
